Vogel Test焦虑实验系统是经典的动物饮水&电击冲突焦虑研究实验。 能检测抗焦虑药物药效,通过惩罚减弱动物反抗行为。
The fully computerized Vogel Test System is used to monitor the effect of anxiolytic drugs in small laboratory animals that are water-deprived. They are tested in special cages featuring a conductive floor grid and a drinking bottle with stainless steel nipple connected to a shock generator. Monitoring of animal licks is performed by very low electrical currents applied to the nipple that are below the animal‘s perception level.
After a previously specified number of licks an electric shock is applied to the nipple - the animal controls the shock frequency by withdrawing from the drinking tube. Anxiolytic drugs significantly increase licking rate and therefore number of shocks applied.
