The TA-X® is a unique tool for the
characterization of the wear resistance on coatings and
polymers.
The patented method performs an evaluation on the
submicrometer scale and therefore can been seen as a
“nondestructive” measurement.
By a defined load
an abasive tape is
moved continously
on the
surface until the
sphere is entering
the material.
The amount of time needed for a given abrasion depth may be recorded
to give a better verification of the wear resistance in this highly interesting
surface area.
TA-X® may be used for the characterization during the R&D examination
of new coatings and materials as well as for the quality control during
production.
